The Trans-Caspian Railway, commonly referred to as the China-Central Asia Railway or the China-Uzbekistan Railway, is a component of China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), which aims to improve regional connectivity and integration.

In addition to the advantages for bilateral trade, the railway line helps to integrate Central Asia on a larger regional scale. It makes it possible for landlocked nations like Uzbekistan to use Chinese seaports, boosting their engagement in global trade and fostering economic growth.

The rail corridor offers China and Uzbekistan a direct and effective way to transfer commodities. When compared to other forms of transportation like road or sea travel, it cuts down on transit times and avoids several border crossings. This geographic advantage allows for quicker and more dependable delivery of goods, which increases trade possibilities.

The only option available for bulk freight trade between China and Uzbekistan is the international railway, which has the lowest cost, the highest volume, the best time, and the greatest number of departure cities. More special freight trains are currently leaving Uzbekistan via the port of Alashankou, traveling via Kazakhstan, and landing in Uzbekistan's capital city of Tashkent. For instance, because of the various cycles, freight, trading modes, terminal loading and unloading conditions, and other factors, Xi'an, Zhengzhou, Guangzhou, Jinan, Shanghai, Yiwu, and other locations have started this train. However, they also have to make decisions based on their own logistics requirements.
